About Open Studio
Open Studio is independent work time. Instructors are not scheduled to teach during these hours, but studio guidelines and expectations remain in place. This is a time to:
• Practice techniques learned in class
• Trim, refine, or finish pieces
• Glaze work
• Build consistency and confidence
It is not a substitute for structured instruction, but an extension of your learning experience.
Studio Guidelines
To maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for everyone:
Towels
Students must bring their own towels to each class and Open Studio session and take them home afterward.
We do not provide or wash towels onsite.
Clean-Up
All students and members are responsible for cleaning their workspace, tools, and shared areas before leaving.
Firing
Kiln space is managed by instructors. All pieces must meet studio standards before being fired. Intro to Wheel students may have two pieces fired per session.
Respect for Shared Space
• Label all work clearly
• Follow clay and glaze usage guidelines
• Respect drying and shelving areas
• Ask before moving another artist’s work
A Shared
Creative Space
Our studio thrives because of the care and respect each person brings into it. Open Studio is an opportunity to slow down, build discipline, and grow as an artist — while contributing to a thoughtful, collaborative environment.
We’re grateful you’re part of it. 🙂
