Advanced Wheel Throwing is designed for students who have developed foundational skills and are ready to refine technique, improve consistency, and explore more intentional forms.

Students should be comfortable centering clay, throwing vessels at least five inches in height, and trimming independently. Building on these skills, the course focuses on increasing height and structural integrity, refining proportion, and developing control across repeated forms.

Instruction emphasizes the relationship between technique and design, encouraging students to create cohesive bodies of work. Surface development and glazing refinement are integrated throughout the course to support a more complete and intentional finished piece.

This course is ideal for intermediate to advanced students seeking to strengthen technical precision, expand form, and deepen their understanding of the wheel as both a functional and expressive tool.inches tall, and trim their work.
